Emergency MedicinePVSES was founded to provide high quality, specialized medical care to companion animal patients. Our practice is dedicated to serving the veterinary community as a partner in total patient care. Our emergency service commonly treats pets that have an acute problem with a severe illness, have been involved in an accident, or have ingested a toxin. Emergency care involves initial stabilization, which often includes IV fluids, oxygen support, radiographs, transfusions and medications. We have rapid in house blood testing available, equipment for blood pressure, blood oxygenation monitoring, electrocardiographic monitoring and emergency access to ultrasonography. We are also equipped to handle emergency surgical procedures.PVSES provides 24 hour monitoring of hospitalized patients. There is always a veterinarian on the premises; as well as highly trained and experienced veterinary nurses. Our emergency doctors have all successfully completed post doctorate internship training and have extensive hands-on experience.
